            பாரத ஸ்டேட் வங்கி சிதம்பரம் கிளை 21-ம் நூற்றாண்டின் சிறப்பம்சமாக வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு காகிதம் இல்லாமல் வங்கியின் செயல்பாடுகளை நடத்திக் கொள்ள ஏதுவாக பசுமை திட்டத்தை அமல்படுத்தியுள்ளது.

               இந்த திட்டத்தின் மூலம் வங்கியின் ஏ.டி.எம். கார்டை பயன்படுத்தி பணம் எடுக்கவும், பணம் டிபாசிட் செய்யவும், பணம் பரிமாற்றம் செய்யவும் முடிவும். மேலும் பண பரிமாற்றத்துக்கு எந்த விதமான உச்சவரம்பும் இல்லாமல், வவுச்சர்களின் அவசியமும் இல்லாமல் இந்த சேவையை பயன்படுத்த முடியும்.  

           ஆன்லைன் பேங்கிங், மொபைல் வங்கி சேவை முதலானவையும் இந்த கிளையில் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றன. இந்த முயற்சிகள் மூலம் வங்கியில் வாடிக்கையாளர்களின் நெரிசலை தவிர்க்க முடியும். வாடிக்கையாளர்களுக்கு மேம்படுத்தப்பட்ட வங்கி சேவையை வழங்கவும் முடியும் என முதன்மை மேலாளர் லஷ்மிநாராயணன் தெரிவித்தார்.

Unique Women's Day for State Bank employees at Cuddalore

Staff of SBI celebrating International Women's day in Cuddalore on Wednesday.

CUDDALORE: 

           Women staff of three branches of State Bank of India, including Manjakuppam, Thirupadiripuliyur and Cuddalore Old Town, celebrated the Centenary of International Women's Day in a unique manner on Tuesday.

            They organised a judicious mix of recreational and intellectual programmes such as musical chair, quiz, general knowledge and classical music competitions, and almost the entire lot participated in all the events. The quiz master posed all sorts of questions related to gender issues in the present socio-economic milieu, including the bank schemes and concessions available to women in general. They readily responded to the questions about the illustrious women who made a mark in their chosen fields.

           The participants expressed the view that the Centenary event was a special occasion for them because it made them to reflect on their role in the society and how they could excel in their career, of course, against odds. Chief Managers K.Govindarajan (Manjakuppam branch) and P.Chelladurai (Cuddalore Old Town branch) and Manager K.Venugopal (Thirupadiripuliyur branch) were the driving forces behind the celebrations. Mr Govindarajan told The Hindu that it was the intent of the bank to democratise the work environment so as to foster solidarity among staff to render better customer services, the ultimate goal.
 

              Mr Chelladuri handed over identical gift articles of utility value to the winners. Mr Govindarajan said more and more number of women were attracted to the banking sector for valid reasons.

Vast spectrum

               R.Rajalakshmi, a staffer with B.E.degree, concurred with the view by saying that the banking sector offered exposure to a vast spectrum of clientele and insight into their economic pursuits. Moreover, the fixed working hours in the banks, unlike the extended schedule in the I-T sector, was another added attraction. Another humanitarian factor was that the bank jobs offered adequate time to connect with the family and strengthen the bond.

          Ms Rajalakshmi further said that for the aspiring staff, the banks offered promotional avenues by conducting periodical qualifying examinations. There was also the possibility of getting a transfer to the desired place, after marriage. These were the factors that were weighing with women to opt for bank jobs and the Centenary of International Women's Day was the right occasion to share such thoughts, Ms Rajalakshmi opined.

SBI ATM opened at Anugraha Satellite Townshi

CUDDALORE: 

       State Bank of India's 104th ATM at Anugraha Satellite Township on East Coast Road near here was inaugurated on Wednesday by Maniratnam, Chairman of Navasakthi Townships Developers Pvt. Ltd.

         S. Jeyram Moorthy, Regional Manager, SBI, Puducherry, and branch managers Chelladurai, Venugopal and Govindarajan, were present. Mr. Moorthy said that the ATM would be of immense help not only to residents of the statellite township but also those on transit.

Farmers urged to repay bank loans promptly

CUDDALORE:

               Principal District Sessions Judge D.Ramabadhran has called upon farmers to cooperate with banks and pay back loans promptly to avoid getting entangled with the money lenders who are charging usurious rates of interest.

             He was delivering a speech after inaugurating the fully air-conditioned branch of State Bank of India at Palayamkottai in Sri Mushnam block, about 70 km from here, on Monday.

                

              The bank branch would be helpful to the farmers. If the farmers promptly repaid the loans the bankers would deliver their services at their doorsteps. However, the judge said, it was a matter of concern that an opinion was gaining ground that the bank loans need not be repaid.

                

                Lending The loanees should get over such a notion, for, only the financially sound banks could continue with their lending activity. He congratulated the bankers for having created an ambience that rivalled even that of the urban branches.
