கடலூரில் ரூ.500க்கு சாதிச் சான்றிதழ் (தட்கல் முறையில்) : பிட் நோட்டீஸ்

          "ஐநூறு ரூபாய் கொடுத்தால், உடனடியாக ஜாதிச் சான்று கிடைக்கும்' என, கடலூர் கலெக்டர் அலுவலக வளாகத்தில் ஒட்டப்பட்டிருந்த, "பிட் நோட்டீஸ்' பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது. 

               கடலூர் கலெக்டர் அலுவலக வளாகத்தில், பொதுமக்கள் குறைகேட்கும் கூட்ட அரங்க வளாகம் அருகே, மாவட்ட செய்தி மக்கள் தொடர்பு அலுவலகம் இயங்கி வருகிறது. இந்த அலுவலக நுழைவாயிலில், நேற்று காலை, கையால் எழுதப்பட்ட, "பிட் நோட்டீஸ்' ஒட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது. அதில், "எம்.பி.சி., ஜாதிச் சான்று, "அர்ஜென்ட்' ஒரு நாள், ரூபாய் 500. எம்.பி.சி., ஜாதிச் சான்று, 'ஆர்டினரி' 2 நாள், ரூபாய் 200. உடன் அணுகவும், துணை வட்டாட்சியர் பழனி, கடலூர்' என எழுதப்பட்டிருந்தது. கலெக்டர் அலுவலகத்திற்கு வந்திருந்த பொதுமக்கள், இந்த நோட்டீசை படிக்க கூடியதால், திடீர் பரபரப்பு ஏற்பட்டது. கலெக்டர் அலுவலக ஊழியர் ஒருவர், அந்த நோட்டீசை கிழித்து அப்புறப்படுத்தினார். 

இதுகுறித்து, நோட்டீசில் குறிப்பிடப்பட்டிருந்த துணை தாசில்தார் பழனி கூறுகையில்,

               "ஜாதிச் சான்று வழங்க பணம் எதுவும் வாங்குவதில்லை. ஆள் பற்றாக்குறை காரணமாக, சற்று தாமதமாக வழங்கப்படுகிறது. இதனால் பாதிக் கப்பட்டவர் எவரேனும், இந்த நோட்டீசை ஒட்டியிருக்கலாம். இருப்பினும், இதுகுறித்து ஊழியர்களிடம் விசாரிக்கப்படும்' என்றார்.

Suggestions sought from public to improve road safety says Cuddalore Superintendent of Police P. Pakalavan

CUDDALORE: 

        Concerned over the increasing number of road accidents and fatalities, the police have sought suggestions from people, non-governmental organisations, educational institutions and traders on safe travel.

          The exercise has been undertaken on the direction of Deputy Inspector General of Police (Villupuram range) Vinit Dev Wankhade and under the supervision of Cuddalore Superintendent of Police P. Pakalavan.

         Police sources told The Hindu that last year as many as 269 road accidents occurred in the district of which 37 were fatal. This year, as many as 337 road accidents occurred up to May, out of which 44 were fatal. According to a study conducted by police, most of the accidents were resulting from human errors such as drunk driving, reckless driving, parking vehicles on thoroughfares without switching on tail lamps, overspeeding and hitting vehicles going ahead, overtaking vehicles without proper signal, etc.

         The study had identified 66 points across the district as accident-prone areas and taken various measures such as installing signboards, putting up barricades to regulate traffic and speed breakers. Sources said seven special teams, each headed by an Inspector of Police, have been posted at crucial stretches of important thoroughfares such as East Coast Road, Kumbakonam road and Tiruchi road to monitor traffic movement and curb racing tendency among motorists.

Process for issuing unique identification cards begins in Cuddalore district on June 27

CUDDALORE: 

        The process for issuing unique identification cards will begin at Panruti, Kurinjipadi and Chidambaram blocks on Monday, according to Collector V.Amuthavalli.

In a statement, she said that to start with two villages in each of the three blocks have been identified: 

Poongunam and Ezhumedu in Panruti block; 

North Sirupalaiyur and Bhoothambadi in Kurinjipadi block and

Poonthottam and Thavarthampattu in Chidambaram block.

           The place and timing of the camps would be announced by the tahsildars. Besides taking photographs of all citizens, the imprints of all 10 fingers and impression of the iris would be taken at the camps. The citizens should bring the acknowledgement slips issued by the enumerators, and whatever identity cards at their disposal, such as the Electors' Photo Identity Cards, driving licence, Permanent Account Number cards, ration cards, passports, all in original, to the camps.
