திட்டக்குடியில் முறிந்து விழும் நிலையில் மின்கம்பம்

              திட்டக்குடியை அடுத்துள்ள வாகையூர் கிராமத்தில் மேலவீதியில் சுமார் 60 வீடுகள் உள்ளன. மின்வாரியம் தெரு மிளக்கு வசதிகளை செய்துள்ளது. அனைத்து வீடுகளும் மின் இணைப்பு வசதி பெற்றுள்ளன. இந்த தெருவை தினமும் 200-க்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் பயன்படுத்தி வருகின்றனர். ஸ்கூல்வேன் தனியார் வேன்கள் கார்கள் அதிகமாக இயங்கும் முக்கியதெருவாகும்.

             இந்த தெருவில் 5 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் மின் வாரிய கம்பம் ஒன்று மோசமாக பலவீனமடைந்து முறிந்து விழும் நிலையில் இருந்தது இதைபார்த்த மின் வாரிய அலுவலர்கள் அந்த கம்பத்தின் கீழ்ப்பகுதியில் சுமார் 2 அடி உயரத்திற்கு ஜல்லியும் சிமென்டையும் கலந்து போட்டு பலவீனம் அடைந்தபகுதியை மட்டும் பலப்படுத்த நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தனர். அந்த கம்பத்தில் 400 வோல்ட்ஸ் அபாயம் என சிவப்பால் எழுதப்பட்ட ஒரு போர்டை வைத்துள்ளனர். 

            ஆனால் 5ஆண்டுகளாக எந்த மேல் நடவடிக்கையும் எடுக்கவில்லை மின் கம்பமும் சிறிதளவு சாய்ந்தே காணப்படுகிறது. தினமும் அவ்வழியாக செல்வோர் பயந்து பயந்துதான் செல்லுகின்றனர். அந்த மின் கம்பத்தை எடுத்து விட்டு நல்ல உறுதியான மின் கம்பத்தை போட்டால் இந்த தெருமக்களின் அச்சம் நீங்கும் என்பதுதான் இப்பகுதி மக்களின் ஒருமித்த கருத்து.

Heavy Rain hits power generation at NeyveliHe

CUDDALORE: 

         Power generation at the Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) was affected due to intermittent rain for the past three days leading to inundation of floodwaters in the mines. The generation of power dropped to around 1,300 MW in the past three days from the recent average generation of around 2,000 MW. The installed capacity of the NLC is 2,470 MW.

            Thermal power plant I generates less than 50 MW power as against its installed capacity of 600 MW, thermal power plant I expansion generates 200 MW as against its installed capacity of 420 MW and thermal power plant II generates around 1,000 MW as against its installed capacity of 1,470 MW. Power generated from thermal power station I was earmarked for Tamil Nadu and NLC alone. Mining operations of the corporation was affected for the past three days due to floodwaters following incessant rain. The pumping capacity to drain inundated water had been increased and the corporation was taking all measures to step up power generation.

TN to set up 50 grain storage godowns to help small farmers including Cuddalore District

          In a move that will help small farmers store their produce when the market price is low, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday ordered to set up 50 grain storage godowns at a cost of Rs 82 crore.

    “In order to better protect the produce of small farmers, aid their financial growth, help them sell their produce at a reasonable market price after the harvest and help them relieve themselves from the burden of loans, the government will open 50 grain storage godowns,” an official release said. These modern godowns will be equipped with weighing equipment, weighing stages and grain moisture testers, it said.

         Five godowns with a total capacity of 10,000 tonne with lorry parking facility at a cost of Rs 25 crore each will come up in Erode, Madurai, Thanjavur, Cuddalore and Villupuram districts. Eight godowns with a total capacity of 5,000 tonne with lorry parking facility at a cost of Rs 20 crore each will come up in Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram, Coimbatore, Erode and Thanjavur districts. Godowns with a capacity of 2,000 tonne at a total cost of Rs 37 crore will come up in 37 places across the state, it said.
