CUDDALORE: 
         The surface of automobiles is like human skin and deserves  better care, according to M. Ramanathan, Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai  University.
           He was speaking at a workshop on “Surface engineering for  automobiles” organised by the Directorate of Distance Education at  Chidambaram near here recently. Ashok Leyland General Manager G.  Sathyaseelan said India must emerge as the hub of innovative product  manufacturers. He called for taking the fruits of research and  technology to people. Registrar M. Rathinasabapathi called for  application of nanotechnology to improve quality. B. Palaniappan, Dean,  Faculty of Engineer and Technology, underscored the point that surface  engineering played a vital role in designing products.
