The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Friday quashed a charge memo and the final order against a government staff on the ground that the rural development department had initiated belated proceedings against him.
The court was hearing a petition filed by K Dakshinamoorthy, a junior assistant at Mangalore Panchayat Union, Cuddalore district. In his petition Dakshinamoorthy said , a junior assistant at Mangalore Panchayat Union, Cuddalore, district. The charge against him was that as a junior assistant, he had not followed the tender procedure as per the government order with regard to purchase of street lights and other electrical materials and caused loss. The said charges were in relation to the transaction said to have taken place between the month of November 1985 and February 1986.
