CUDDALORE:
The PMK will not ally with any Dravidian party under any circumstance, party leader S Ramadoss declared on Sunday.
The Dravidian parties were to be blamed for spoiling the State in every aspect, for decades, he said during a party meet here. The general committee of the party, which saw the participation of leaders G K Mani and J Guru, was the first one after the recent expulsion of joint secretary Velmurugan. Indirectly training his guns on Velmurugan, Ramadoss said, “Fruit that ripens prematurely is of no use. Such fruits should be thrown away. The PMK is like a banyan tree that shelters birds. Some birds may come and some may go.” However, Ramadoss chose not to further deliberate on the topic.
The DMK did not implement the assurances that they made during 1957, 1962 and 1967 Assembly polls, Ramadoss said, listing out 25 poll promises that the DMK made during this period. “Of these 25 assurances, the DMK implemented only two. One was the installation of a nuclear power plant and another one was measures for the growth of English language in the State,” he said. On the PMK’s political strategy, he said the party would go it alone for the next elections. “The PMK will strive to bring in inclusive growth, ensure social justice and eradicate poverty,’’ Ramadoss added.
