CUDDALORE:
Annamalai University recently launched film technology related programmes, being offered through the distance education mode in collaboration with Jeevan Softech Limited, Hyderabad.
Those who were present on the occasion included Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandeswari, vice-chancellor M. Ramanathan, Director of the Directorate of Distance Education S.B. Nageswara Rao, Jeevan Softech Chairman D. Seetharamaiah, film producer Tammareddy Bharadwaja and actor Chalapathi Rao. A statement from the university said that Ms. Purandeswari congratulated the university and the company for having come together to launch the programmes. She stressed the need for starting more educational institutions to meet the demands of the growing population.
Mr. Ramanathan said that the programmes would include M.B.A and B.B.A in media management, and, diploma and certificate programmes. Film was a powerful medium that reflected the cultures of particular sections and also acted as a means of entertainment, he added.
