CUDDALORE:
The Cooperative Department here started selling onion (Bellary variety) at Rs. 22 a kg through its 10 outlets located across the Cuddalore district from Thursday.
Joint Registrar of Cooperatives S.R. Venkatesan in a statement here said the soaring prices of onion in the open market had seriously affected the households. Hence, to enable them get onion at reasonable prices, the department had started the sale of onions through cooperative outlets from Thursday.
