CUDDALORE:
The Consumer Guild of Tamil Nadu has called upon the Travancore Devaswom Board to provide modern facilities at Sabarimala for better crowd management so as to avert tragedies such as the one that occurred at Pulmedu recently.
Guild secretary C.D. Appavu, in a representation, said the board could install a rope car to enable devotees cross the terrains. He said that whatever facilities available to the pilgrims en route to the place of worship were provided by the All India Aiyappa Seva Sangam. The Guild called upon the Devaswom Board to explore the feasibility of installing escalators to facilitate speedy ‘darshan.'
