CUDDALORE:

The Faculty of Agriculture of Annamalai University and Nova Scotia Agricultural College (NSCA), Canada, have entered into an agreement for offering collaborative educational and research programmes.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by M. Ramanathan, Vice-Chancellor of Annamalai University, and M. Rathinasabapathi, Registrar, and Bernie MacDonald, vice-president (administration) and Brian Crouse, Manager of Student Recruitment, NSCA.

According to Mr. Ramanathan, the collaborative programme would enable agriculture students of Annamalai University to pursue one or two years of their four-year integrated programme at NSCA. After completion of the programme, they would be awarded two undergraduate degrees - one by NSCA and another by Annamalai University. Mr. Ramanathan said the two institutions would also introduce common courses in agriculture that may be in demand in both the countries. Students who complete their undergraduate programmes in Annamalai University could join the post-baccalaureate diploma of one year and continue with their masters' degree in Canada.
