The State government has decided to implement a project of web-based integrated solution for the issue of copies of registered land/property documents, encumbrance certificates and marriage certificates, Registration and Commercial Taxes Minister Agri S.S. Krishnamoorthy told the Assembly on Tuesday.
Once executed, the project would enable people to get the copies through internet. An amount of Rs. 30 lakh had been set apart for the selection of a consultant to prepare software, define parameters for its use and assess the likely expenditure for the project, the Minister said, concluding the debate on the demands for grants to his department. Five more sub-registrar offices would be formed by bifurcating those five sub-registrar offices that involved the maximum number of registration of documents.
Similarly, in respect of the Commercial Taxes Department, an end-to-end computerisation project would be carried out. The implementation partner, to be chosen through a transparent bidding process, would be responsible for design, implementation and maintenance. The one-time cost of procurement, deployment and commissioning of IT infrastructure had been tentatively worked out as Rs. 78.73 crore and the recurring cost for the first year, Rs. 21.45 crore. In five years, the total cost of the project was estimated at Rs. 185.98 crore, he said. All check posts, run by the Department, would be modernised, he added.
