CUDDALORE:
Annamalai University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with OCE College India (a unit of the Sun Learning Technical India Pvt. Ltd.), Chennai, for offering six new programmes through distance education mode.
The programmes, to be offered through the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) of the university, are business leadership, construction management, visual media, nutrition diabetes, food service management and network administration.
A statement from the university said the programmes were started in accordance with the observation of Vice-Chancellor M. Ramanathan that globalisation had opened up many new areas of operation in the corporate sector and, therefore, it was the responsibility of educational institutions to train students in appropriate programmes to suit the requirements of the corporate world. Registrar M. Rathinasabapathi, director of DDE S.B. Nageswara Rao, and founder-chairperson of OCE College India, Chennai, Geetha Nagappan, were present.
