Muslim Makkal Kazhagam's plea to Chief Minister

CUDDALORE: 

         The Muslim Makkal Kazhagam has appealed to Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi to extend the Kalaignar Housing Scheme to the economically weaker sections of the minority community.

          The Kazhagam, at its 11th anniversary function held here recently, adopted a resolution . It stated that the government proposal to make Tamil Nadu free from huts was a laudable objective. But, there was a need to expand the project to cover the nomadic tribes such as the Narikoravas and the hilly tribes, and also the people who had made platforms their domicile places.

        In another resolution, it thanked Mr. M.Karunanidhi and Deputy Chief Minister M.K.Stalin for having formed a separate welfare board for the ulemas and set apart 3.5 per cent reservation for the minority community. In yet another resolution, the Kazhagam resolved to support the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in the coming Assembly elections. Founder-president of the Kazhagam S.S.Jainuddin participated.
