Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi leader Thol.Thirumavalavan has appealed to the electorate to vote the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam for two reasons:
To get all huts converted into concrete houses,
And enable the VCK to get back its original “Star” symbol.
Mr. Thirumavalavan was canvassing votes for VCK candidate D.Ravikumar for the Kattumannarkoil constituency, and DMK candidates Sridhar Vandayar (Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam leader contesting on the DMK symbol), L.Pugalendi (Cuddalore) and Saba.Rajendran (Panruti).
He said that next to Villupuram district, Cuddalore district had the highest number of huts in which the people were living for generations without any improvement. All these years it had been their dream to live in all-weather pucca buildings and thanks to Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi it had become a reality. Mr. Thirumavalavan said that the VCK would be contesting the elections on the “Candles” symbol and by winning all 10 Assembly seats allotted to it, the party could get back the original “Star” symbol.
