CUDDALORE:
The executive committee and the general body of the Moovendar Munnetra Kazhagam that held an emergency meeting at Chidambaram on Monday took stock of the outcome of the Assembly elections.
Speaking on the occasion, party leader Sridhar Vandayar said that the party accepted the verdict of the people and thanked those who had cast their votes in his favour. Mr. Vandayar, who contested the elections on the DMK symbol in the Chidambaram Assembly constituency, was defeated by K. Balakrishnan of the Communist Party of India (Marixist). He called upon party men to concentrate on the local body elections and the Lok Sabha elections.
