CUDDALORE:
Projects worth Rs. 5.12 crore will be taken up in 26 panchayats in Cuddalore district under the “Post-tsunami sustained livelihood programme,” supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). A statement from Collector P. Seetharaman said that people would have to put in 10 per cent of the project cost as their share and the money was being collected. As part of the programme, four fishermen associations had been formed at M.G.R. Nagar and Kalaignar Nagar at Killai and at Annankoil. The youth in these areas were also imparted training in livelihood measures.
