CUDDALORE:

Education basically comprises three components - knowledge, know-how and character. However, educational institutions concentrate primarily on the first two aspects and push the third one to the background, said M.S. Ananth, Director, Indian Institute of Technology-Madras.

In his address delivered at the Sixth Graduation Day of Krishnasamy College of Engineering and Technology here on Friday, Mr. Ananth said that curriculum was so designed to impart knowledge and know-how or the application of knowledge among students. It should also accord equal importance to character building. Mr. Ananth gave away graduation certificates to 237 candidates, gold and silver medals and cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 (instituted by the college) to rank holders from each of the five engineering disciplines. College chairman K. Rajendran said that the college had more than the required level of facilities prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education.
