CUDDALORE:
Collector P. Seetharaman has ordered the payment of arrears, if any, to overhead tank (OHT) operators in the panchayats for a period of 17 years.
In a statement here on Thursday, he said that during a special review meeting conducted recently, it had come to his notice that in certain cases arrears to OHT operators were pending from 1992 to 2009. Therefore, Block Development Officers were directed to disburse the arrears by October 31 through the respective panchayats. The Collector warned that if the panchayats failed to meet the deadline, their accounts would be frozen.
