Two fishermen die in deep sea after getting entangled in net Cuddalore,June 16 (PTI) A father and son today died after they got entangled in a fishing net in deep sea while trying to free it from an iron rod,a police official said.
The deceased were part of a four-strong group of fishermen which had put to sea from the Chithiraipettai village, near here last night, P Babu, Sub-inspector of police, Cuddalore, said. He said while fishing,their nylon-net got stuck with an irod rod attached to the mechanised boat.Twenty-year-old Suresh jumped into the water to free it but when he did not come up, his 53-year-old father too jumped. When both did not surface, another fisherman jumped into the sea and found that the two had drowned after getting entangled in the net,he said. The bodies have been sent for autopsy, the official said, adding, a case has been registered.
