CUDDALORE:
Collector P. Seetharaman has imposed certain conditions on vehicles carrying students.
A decision was taken at a meeting of officials and police officers held here on Tuesday. It has been decided that owners of all min-buses, vans, cars and autorickshaws being used on school/college duty should register with the regional transport office the names of drivers and details about the vehicles. They should prominently display the certificate, carrying a photograph of the driver and attested by the respective police officers and the RTO, inside the vehicle. The educational institutions are instructed to maintain a register on the drivers and their assistants accompanying them in the vehicles.
The RTO and the Deputy Superintendents of Police should conduct surprise checks to verify whether the vehicles follow traffic rules.
