As many as 4,037 enumerators and 659 superintendents had been put on the job and they would collect the details from all the households. They had already undergone training in three stages in these aspects. There were 29 columns in the Census form to be filled up and there were separate columns for men, women and transgenders (aravanis). On the final day of February 28, the enumerators would collect the details of homeless people who are living on the platforms, and in railway stations and bus stands.
