CUDDALORE:
A person posing as a policeman was arrested and lodged in the Cuddalore Central Prison on Friday.
Police said that V. Ramachandran (36) of Kottai Kadungulam, Tirunelveli district, had recently come to stay in a rented house at Sothikuppam near here. He used to go around in police uniform carrying a ‘lathi' and a whistle. Residents informed police about him. The police followed him for sometime, arrested and produced him before a court. The police said there were allegations that two years ago, Ramachandran, wearing police uniform, cheated the people of Valliyur at Tirunelveli.
