CUDDALORE:
The Consumer Guild of Tamil Nadu has appealed to District Collector P. Seetharaman to arrange for proper verification of ration cards and issue new cards for the deserving persons.
In a representation handed over to the Collector the Guild secretary C.D. Appavu stated that even in those areas where the verification was purportedly completed many authentic ration cards were cancelled as bogus cards. If such a situation prevails it would lead to a slew of litigations. Even the applications seeking new ration cards were returned without assigning any valid reason.
