CUDDALORE:
Ambika (23) of Paradesi Nagar in Chidambaram committed immolation along with her one-year-old daughter Arunadevi on Sunday. Police sources said that Ambika tried to reform her husband Nagarajan (30) who was a manager in a hotel and was reportedly addicted to liquor. In fact she took him to a temple with the hope that he would mend his ways.
But after seeing him lying unconscious in front of their house after consuming liquor on Sunday she took the extreme step and died. In a locked house she poured the kerosene on herself and her infant daughter and set themselves ablaze. On hearing her alarm the neighbours informed the police who broke open the door to see both perished in the flames.
