Coast Guard boats likely at Cuddalore Port

CUDDALORE: 

               Regional Commander of Coast Guard A. Rajasekar made a fleeting visit to the Cuddalore Port here on Monday to study the feasibility of setting up surveillance boats in the area. Before boarding the helicopter at the Anna Stadium here, the Commander told reporters that he had come to see the arrangements for the setting up of a Coast Guard station at Karaikal. To be ready before 2012 The station, to be formed on the model of the one at Puducherry, would be ready before 2012. He did not divulge the number of boats to be berthed at the port. He said the Marine Police of the Tamil Nadu government and other agencies were extending full cooperation in keeping the coast safe. The Commander, who is in charge of the coastal area from Kolkata to Tuticorin, was accompanied by Commandant (Puducherry Coast Guard) D.S. Chauhan.
