CUDDALORE:
About 105 cadre of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) were taken into preventive custody on Tuesday when they tried to disrupt train services at Thirupadiripuliyur railway station here. The protestors demanded that all trains passing through Cuddalore should stop at Thirupadiripuliyur. The cadres said that it would be helpful to commuters, particularly students, elderly and the ailing persons. It would also improve the economic condition of the town as more traders and businessmen would avail themselves of the services, they said.
