Even while the Neyveli Lignite Corporation employees' strike entered the second day on Thursday conciliatory talks were held with the mediation of Regional Labour Commissioner M.M. Jagannatha Rao on the NLC premises. The conciliatory talks were held to resolve the stalemate between the NLC management and the trade unions over the period of payment for arrears under the new wage revision agreement. There was no immediate impact either in lignite mining or power generation in the NLC. Elaborate security arrangements have been made there.
