CUDDALORE:
The private lorry operators owing allegiance to the Neyveli Body Lorry Owners' Association launched an indefinite strike from Thursday, demanding increased tariffs. The strike affected the movement of about 150 lorries that used to transport on an average 1,500—2,000 tonnes of lignite a day from Neyveli to others parts of the State. The lorry owners were demanding a tariff rise of about Rs.40- 60 a tonne.
