CUDDALORE:
Incumbent State president of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), A.K. Padmanabhan, has been re-elected to the post for another two years at the 11th State-level conference that concluded here on Wednesday.
The new office-bearers are: A. Soundararajan – general secretary, P.M. Kumar – treasurer (both re-elected), and R. Singaravelu, K. Palanivelu and V. Kumar – assistant general secretaries. There are 13 vice-presidents, including T.K. Rengarajan, MP, and 16 secretaries. According to Mr. Soundarajan, the CITU was aiming at increasing its membership in Tamil Nadu from the present two lakhs to three lakhs in one year.
