CUDDALORE:
The State government has announced a pension scheme for workers of noon meal centres.
The workers who retired before September 15, 2008, would be eligible for pension. A statement from Collector P. Seetharaman said that pension would be disbursed with retrospective effect from January 2010. Therefore, the retired workers could apply to the respective panchayat unions or municipalities, along with a copy of their retirement order, to stake claim for pension.
