CUDDALORE:
Financial assistance of Rs. 1,38,246 was given away to Suganthi of Thazhanguda recently under the Tsunami-affected destitute unmarried women and adolescent girls financial assistance scheme-2005. A statement released by R. Bhuvaneswari, District Social Welfare Officer, said that Suganthi lost her mother in the tsunami and was living on her own. Recently she got married and on production of her marriage certificate, she was granted Rs. 69,123 from the Calamity Relief Fund and Rs. 69,123 from the Chief Minister General Relief Fund.
