CUDDALORE:
Health Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam distributed financial assistance of Rs. 3.10 crore for improving facilities in nine upgraded schools, at a function organised by the Education Department at Kurinjipadi near here on Sunday. The Minister said that the nine middle schools at Abatharanapuram, Puliyur Kaattusagai, Theerthanagiri, Pudhukooraipettai, Erumanur, Otteri, Movur, Edaiyar and Thirumuttam were made high schools in 2009-2010. The Centre had sanctioned Rs 5.24 crore for constructing new classrooms in the upgraded schools, at the rate of Rs. 58.25 lakh per school. Of this, a sum of Rs. 3.10 crore had been released.
