Respite from heat: A scene at the beach in Cuddalore on Sunday.
CUDDALORE:
A large number of people thronged the Silver Beach here seeking respite from the intense heat on Sunday.
The number of holiday-makers swelled as it happened to be the last Sunday of the summer vacation. The persons in-charge of the parking lot at the beach reported a steady stream of vehicles coming in right from the morning. Camel ride was a major attraction to children. Vendors, particularly those selling ice cream, reported brisk business. Several children could be seen taking repeated dips in the sea. Police personnel had a tough time controlling people from getting deep into the sea.
