CUDDALORE:
Yet another attempt was made to break open a row of shops at Pudhuchathiram, on the Cuddalore-Chidambaram main road, on Tuesday night.
It came to light when some of the residents noticed on Wednesday morning the broken locks of a TASMAC outlet, a fertilizer shop and a public call office (PCO). On information, the police rushed to the spot and on inquiry they found that cash amounting to Rs. 3,100 kept in the TASMAC outlet and the PCO along with mobile recharge cards were missing. The forensic experts were pressed into service and a vigil was mounted in the surrounding villages. This was the third incident of serial thefts made in closed shops and commercial establishments within three-four weeks. The earlier attempts were made at Periapattu and B.Mutlur.
