Vegakollai panchayat assistant R. Muthukumaran and Makkal Nala Paniyalar S. David Imanuel have been placed under suspension for malpractices in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Programme, Collector P. Seetharaman said in a statement Criminal proceedings were initiated against the two persons and the panchayat president and the vice-president.
